The detain 2024 African Nations Championship (CHAN 2024), the men’s football competition quiet for players active in their countries’ domestic leagues, kicks off on Saturday, 2 August, & runs until 30 August 2025.
The tournament is being put on across five venues in four cities, spread across three co-hosting nations: Kenya, Tanzania, & Uganda.
Teams are split into four groups (three with five teams, one with four), with the top two in each proceed to the quarter-finals.
Since the tournament’s inaugural edition in 2009, both the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) & Morocco have lifted the trophy twice. The DRC secured titles in 2009 & 2016, while Morocco claimed back-to-back victories in 2018 & 2020. Tunisia, Libya, & reigning champions Senegal have each won the tournament once.
